Meet Your Principal, Christie

With over a decade of experience in secondary schools and The Learning Lab, Christie has journeyed with some of her students from k2 to p6 and some all the way till they graduate from secondary school. She believes that beyond building strong foundations in the language and pursuing academic progress/excellence, english enrichment classes ought to ignite a child’s love for the language, sense of curiosity and critical thinking, empowering students to observe, understand and articulate what is going on in the world around them. The curriculum she designs is centred around that.

She has organised young journalist workshops helmed by practitioners and trips to the library, park or mall to allow students to observe and describe actual scenes using their 5-senses descriptions. She also aims to teach students practical learning handles that can sharpen their critical thinking, answering techniques and creative writing

"I aspire to teach english in a way that connects the language to real life because that’s how students learn best. One of my greatest joy is seeing my students enjoy learning and becoming more confident, holistic and world-ready individuals"

Lives Transformed at Creative Genesis

Creative Genesis transformed my relationship with language. The mentors didn't just teach me how to write; they taught me how to think critically and voice my ideas with real confidence.
